Wild vs Farmed Salmon
Wild salmon spend their lives in the open ocean, feeding on a natural diet of smaller fish, plankton and algae. That diet gives wild salmon a firmer, leaner texture, a deeper colour and a more robust, natural flavour than farmed salmon, which is raised in pens on processed feed and tends to be softer and oilier.
Wild salmon is also a natural source of high-quality protein and omega-3 fatty acids. That’s why every Jet Set Sam product, from our cold-smoked sockeye lox to our maple sockeye nuggets and salmon jerky, is made from wild-caught salmon only.
